Self-assessment helps members reflect upon their current professional proficiency, identify areas for improvement, and develop a learning plan that will address those areas. Members must complete a self-assessment once every two years, as determined by CCO.
Members are not required to submit their self-assessment questionnaire to CCO. It is for their review only.
The final component of self-assessment is the Plan of Action Summary Sheet. Once members have completed the self-assessment questionnaire and have identified areas that need improvement, they then transfer this information to the plan of action summary and use it to develop a learning plan that will guide their CE and professional development. The plan of action summary sheet is a required component of the member’s professional portfolio, and will be reviewed by a peer assessor during peer and practice assessment.
A note on Self-Assessment 2.0
Beginning with the July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2024 CE cycle, Council approved Self-Assessment 2.0, intended as a self-assessment for members who have completed two CE cycles and thus completed two initial Self-Assessments (SA 1.0). See this memorandum for a further explanation of Self-Assessment 2.0.
