Discipline

CCO’s Discipline Committee conducts hearings and adjudicates allegations of professional misconduct and incompetence that have been referred by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee.  Hearings are held in accordance with Rules of Procedure and under the Statutory Powers Procedure Act, 1990.

The Discipline Committee makes final decisions based on the evidence presented and imposes penalties. These include reprimands, fines, and suspension or revocation of licences.

The maximum penalty the Discipline Committee may impose under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 is revocation of a licence with no possibility of reinstatement for five years.

Decisions of the Discipline Committee are posted under a CCO member’s profile in the public register, and are published in CCO’s annual reports.

Discipline hearings are open to the public. If you are interested in attending a hearing, please contact Ms Rose Bustria at rbustria@cco.on.ca.
